About the author

Darren O'Sullivan was born in Slough in 1982 but moved to Peterborough when he was 17 to train in performing arts. He has been working creatively ever since, first as an actor for the stage, then director. 5 years ago he felt inspired to write theatre and from that came the idea to develop a novel.

Following being accepted in the Faber and Faber novel writing programme in 2015 he fine tuned his hand and during that 6 month training programme 'Our Little Secret' was born.

Darren signed for HQ with his psychological thriller 'Our Little Secret'.

He is currently working on his second thriller.

    I enjoyed the overall story and although I figured the plot out early on, I found myself wanting to read on to see if I was right and to see how it all came to an end. I though the plot was well executed and engaging. Parts of this book made me wince!

    I'm afraid the twist is so obvious from the beginning and the writing is tedious. Sorry to say it's not worth the time to read it

    At first I thought this would be a romantic cliche but it gathers momentum, the characters develop further into the story and it's gripping and although I started to predict the ending, I wanted to find out how the author would deliver and he didn't let me down.

    Gripping from start to finish! The way this book deals with issues of mental health is something so relevant and is dealt with beautifully. The writing style has such a rawness about it and you feel the emotions so much more because of it! Definitely worth a read!!!

    A good page turner, well written and intriguing. Would recommend not reading if you have any triggers with depression/anxiety. Keeps you engaged but always left me feeling rather depressed afterwards. Would still recommend if you like that sort of thing

    I had guessed the "big twist" within the first 80 pages. Forced myself to keep on but not an enjoyable read.
