Enlightening and informative

As a 17 year old interested in ancient history, I was looking for a boom which would give me a general overview of the life of Alexander and this book does this and more. It delves into his successes and also points out the greatness and flaws of his character, adding a new dimension to the story. Abbott also evaluates many of his stories which is helpful, and his detailed writings give a very interesting, liberating and "un-put-downable" account of the life of Alexander. A great read for all those interested in history.

I think that word sums this up the best. I couldn't put it down. Conveniently placed on my iPhone I was reading at every opportunity. There were at times words which required looking up to gain the full understanding but that's just me. I'm sure a more intelligent audience could avoid those sorts of delays?! Good read.

A good book but somewhat I doubt certain events as recorded by historians.
