    Despite it's patronising tone (you can expect to be referred to as 'Buttercup' throughout this book), I found that it was very well written. It was perhaps a little jargon-filled for someone who isn't an expert on nutrition; I was scratching my head on a couple of occasions, but it's mostly very good. It doesn't just refer to diet, and talks about the science behind other health-related factor in your life such as stress and sleep. And it goes into the science behind those things to an extent that I've never been able to understand before. I'm a long-time vegetarian; almost vegan. I was turned by 'The China Study' many years ago. And I started reading this book to get the "other" perspective on nutrition. And as it slowly convinced me of the advantages of a Paleo diet, the one thing that I really couldn't argue with was the statement that you should "try it for thirty days. And you'll feel so much better that you won't need any more convincing." I'm 29 years old, and I'm not unhealthy by any stretch of the imagination. But my interest was now piqued, and I really was curious to find out, will a Paleo diet make me feel even better? So I decided to take up the author on his challenge of trying it for thirty days. For a long-time vegetarian, going out and buying meat was no easy task. Nor was cooking it or eating it for the first time in years. But I was determined to try this 'caveman' lifestyle, the logic of which seemed to make so much sense. From here though, things went downhill. I didn't start feeling better or healthier. I found myself literally ageing overnight. Aches and pain from doing dumb stuff as a teenager that I haven't felt for years, started coming back. I got an ulcer in my mouth, again something which hasn't happened for a while. My stomach wouldn't settle either and I was feeling continually nauseous. And when I went out for a short run (something which I do regularly) my muscles were in agony like I was finishing a marathon. This was after one day of eating meat again. After two it was worse. Although I'd been planning to try the Paleo diet for thirty days, I felt so bad that I put an end to this trial after two. I did make some modifications to my diet as a result of reading this book. I've limited my intake of grains and beans now, because I understand the dangers of them. But I felt far, far better on my previous almost-vegan diet. Now I'm not saying that Robb Wolf (the author) is wrong. I genuinely believe that this lifestyle works for him, and that it works for many other people out there too. It could work for you too. I believe that the science behind this book is solid, and I recommend it to vegans and non-vegans alike, because even if you don't agree with them, some interesting ideas are put forward. But my one piece of advice would be, don't fall to the author's convincing and patronising tone, that this works for everybody. By the second day of my trial, I felt worse than I have done in years. Still a good read though.

    Good to se I have been living thenpaleo lifestyle for the last 7 years without knowing it: I have been eating very low carbs, high protein and fat content together with weight training 4 times a week. This has helped me grow into a lean muscle ,achine, growing from 150 lbs to 190... However reading this book helped me understand the positive impact of sleep, the roles of fruits and some supplements. The 30 days worth of paleo recipes are a real bonus too. It will just make my already improved lifestyle even better!

    This book is amazing period! Robb is a highly intelligent witty writer, the book is insightful and engaging, I have learnt so much for reading it although some of the matieral went over my head it has changed my perspective on nutrition and i am now an educated consumer. Most people refer to paleo as a diet but its more than that its a lifestyle and an amazing one at that. If you haven't tried the paleo diet or know anything about it this is your cross road right here and now. Download this book and educate yourself or keep scrolling and eat that doughnut.
